I’m on a pinterest expedition to pin images that remind me of Legendary Magic (my new book). You can check it out here: http://www.pinterest.com/rleonia/legendary-magic/ And while you’re here on my blog, read the following post and VOTE, please! The two versions are tied…
Hello readers! I’m in the final editing phase of my last book in the Relic Hunter Series and I’m having a hard time deciding which book blurb to use. I’d love it if you would take a moment and read through these two choices and then vote for your favorite. For me, one of the hardest things to do is write the blurb but this time I have two to choose from and I just can’t make up my mind!
Dr. Arienne Cerasola might have a suspicious mind, but that doesn’t mean something nasty isn’t being planned by two of her former acquaintances. They have banded together on an archaeological expedition in the United Kingdom, and that could spell trouble for the magical community. The magical apocalypse kind of trouble.
As a witch and disgraced archaeologist, Arienne shouldn’t be surprised when Kingston Pon asks her help to find a lost relic. After all, Kingston is one of the senior members of the United Coven and Alliance and Arienne is one of the few people who knows about his secret resistance activities with the Crux Crucio Orbis. When she learns her own Grandfather is involved in the C.C.O., Arienne’s more than a little angry that her family has been keeping secrets. Secrets about their involvement in the magical world. Secrets about Arienne’s legacy. Keeping secrets means creating lies and Arienne is determined to unravel the deception even if it means collapsing the foundation of her new life.
Caught between the clandestine world of the C.C.O., the dangers of the Alliance, and the treachery of a new magical organization Arienne must trace the grain of truth in the legends passed down from the ancient Celts, through the Roman Empire, and right into King Arthur’s court. Legends that were created to protect the truth and keep the relic from passing into the wrong hands.
The confines of loyalty and duty make it an even more complicated quest. She might be the only one who can balance the power without collapsing the foundations that hold magic in check but to accomplish that, she’ll have to face the truth about herself, her family, and her place a world she was never really part of.
Loyalty and duty have a nasty way of complicating an already challenging task. Fortunately for Dr. Arienne Cerasola, she’s not bound to any organization – mainly because none of the magical organizations seem to want her. That would be a good thing if it weren’t so incredibly insulting.
The fact that her former (dishonest) partner has banded with the man who ruined her credibility as an archaeologist just twists the knife a little deeper. Their well publicized archaeological expedition in the United Kingdom could spell trouble for the magical community. The kind of trouble that could put Arienne, her family, and maybe the entire magical balance of power in jeopardy.
As a witch and disgraced archaeologist, Arienne shouldn’t be surprised when Kingston Pon asks her help to find a lost relic. What is surprising is that her own grandfather, respected archaeologist Christy O’Flynn wants to help her find the truth behind the legends, and he knows all about Kingston’s subversive activities with Crux Crucio Orbis. In fact, Christy has quite a history of his own in the resistance movement. Arienne is enticed to lead the geriatric crew on a quest to beat the competition to the relic – and avoid being discovered by the two other groups who seek it.
Caught between the clandestine world of the C.C.O., the dangers of the Alliance, and the treachery of a new magical organization, Arienne must trace the grain of truth from the ancient Celts, through the Roman Empire, and right into King Arthur’s court. The fate of the magical world might depend on her ability to untangle the legends which were created to protect the relic. Her own fate might depend on her ability to see through the confines of loyalty and duty. Arienne might be the only one who can keep the balance of power without collapsing the foundations that hold magic in check but to accomplish that, she’ll have to face the truth about herself, her family, and her place a world she was never really part of.
